A Message from our President
August 2023
Hello welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Wendy Zuazo, and I am very excited to be the H&SL President this year! I am looking forward to an amazing year!
A little bit about myself. I have two boys, Christian and Mateo. Christian promoted this last school year and is now going into to 7th grade at Oarkridge and Mateo is going into 2nd grade at VPE. We have been at VPE since Christian started his Kindergarten year. This will be my 8th year at VPE and have loved volunteering in our H&SL and in the classroom every year since.
I am excited for the new school year and can’t wait to get started to make this a great year. I would love to extend an invitation to all parents to join our Home & School League. Our VPE H&SL is a non-profit parent group that was established back in 1931 and its objective is to maintain the connection between home and school, so that teachers, parents, and staff can work together to provide our students the best educational experience possible. With your contributions and fundraising efforts, we can provide our students with art, music enrichment, technology updates, campus upgrades and educational assemblies. Without your support, none of this would be possible.
As a VPE H&SL Member, you will have access to the online school directory, and you are invited and highly encourage to attend the monthly H&SL Meetings. These meetings will usually be held the third Friday of every month at 8:15 am. Our first H&SL Meeting will be held on September 22, 2023 at 8:15 am.
I would like to thank the 2023-24 H&SL Exec Board for volunteering your time to help make this school year a successful one for our school and our students- Kari Christie, Stefani McMillen, Donna Czekalski, Lacey Cahill, Erin Flynn, Kathleen Lim-Valle, Merrill Norrdin, Selena, Wendy Wolf!
I hope to see everyone at our meetings and please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to get involved in our VPE H&SL this year. We have a few opportunities available.
